Adult Program

After several years of running the high school program, the parents of our students, many of whom have MBAs and were working in business, asked if they could take the class.

At first, we thought no. This is only for high school students. But then we ran a pilot and discovered it worked really well and met a real need for adults.

Many adults feel they have a gap in their business education – especially as it concerns finance and the stock market. So now we have a public program for adults. It uses the same curriculum, the same great volunteer faculty, but the students are all adults (oh, and all the fees are donated to develop our program for under-served youth).

Program Details

The Program was founded by graduates of the Harvard Business School, and taught live by a faculty of experienced executives.

The seven weeks are divided into two parts based on the two questions Buffett thinks every student should understand:

What is a good company, economically?

  • Week 1: Introduction to Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger and to how the program works

  • Week 2: What makes companies like Apple and American Express good economically

  • Week 3: Key Principles of Buffett’s Philosophy

  • Week 4: Economic Moats, Creative Destruction, and the Economic Engine of Berkshire Hathaway

How does the stock market operate?

  • Week 5: The Dotcom Bubble and Buffett’s Famous 1999 Speech at the Summer Camp for Billionaires

  • Week 6: The Great Financial Crisis and Noah’s Rule (HBO Documentary, Charlie Munger Video)

  • Week 7: The Pandemic, Meme Stocks, SPACs and Charlie Munger
